A little Cast Stone history

Cast Stone EntryCast stone is a highly refined architectural precast concrete building stone manufactured to simulate natural cut stone. The earliest known use of Cast Stone was in the year 1138 for the Cite in Carcasonne, France, and no prescribed method for developing Cast Stone existed until the 19th century. In 1824, Joe Aspidin, a mason in London, patented a mix of Cast Stone consisting of limestone, silica, iron ore, and shale. This Cast Stone circulated through England in the early 1900's and made its way to America in the 1920's.

Color samples provided on this website are a close representation to the actual colors, but it may be varied because of your computers display capabilities. (Per customers request, color samples will be provided for final selection before manufacturing.)

There are two basic cast stone production systems available, called "dry tamp" and "wet cast"

Wet cast concrete is a flow-able form of concrete which may be poured from a mixer, hopper or truck. Wet cast concrete is often used in the precast industry, where it is cast in forms and stripped, and finished
